City of Cape May Announces Independence Day Weekend Events

The City of Cape May will present a weekend of family events to celebrate Independence Day. The Kiwanis Club of Cape May will hold their annual pancake breakfast at Cape May Convention Hall on Saturday July 1, 7:30 a.m. - 11 a.m.  

The City of Cape May will also host the annual Independence Parade at 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 1, starting at Philadelphia and Beach Avenues. Decorated bicycles, antique automobiles, and all community entries are welcome to participate in the Independence Parade.  Anyone interested in participating in the Independence Parade please contact the Cape May Department of Civic Affairs at 609-884-9565 or email

The fireworks extravaganza will be staged on Tuesday, July 4 at 9 p.m. from a barge at sea in front of Congress Hall.

Additionally, a variety of free entertaining concerts will be held in Rotary Park located at 400 Lafayette Street starting at 7 p.m. as follows:

Sunday, July 2 - Jack Melton Band
Monday, July 3 - Mainliners Chorus
Tuesday, July 4 - Congress Street Brass Band
